SLB AND SEX

SLBANSSEX

Baby, it’s hot outside and we challenge you to heat things up inside ... We mean in the bedroom, of course.

Before you get it on, come get it on with us first! Why? Because working out actually primes your body for sex. Besides the physiology of increased blood flow (everywhere!), the female body is more responsive to pleasure and physical sensations are experienced more intensely. The take home message: Fooling around isn’t so foolish and your big “O” is even bigger.

Need motivation to step straight from the workout to the bedroom? Think about this: First, you are putting yourself in the position (pun absolutely intended) to enhance your after-burn: keep busy for at least 30 minutes and you can conservatively add an extra 85-100 calories to your total count (if you’re into that sort of thing).

Second, there is no greater time for a gal to feel better about her body than right after she has just killed it in the studio! Women who feel physically fit think more highly of themselves on levels of sexual attractiveness and performance. When we feel good about ourselves, we’re more confident and less inhibited. This paves the way for spontaneity and creativity …

Third, you already look the part! You know that natural flush in your cheeks after a perfectly satisfying sweat session? This peaks male interest and promotes interpersonal closeness. Lastly, your still-warm muscles and joints allow for increased flexibility and generous range-of-motion. Amen.

Hurry home, though! Your period of increased sensuality only lasts for about 15-20 minutes post-exercise. On that note, don’t bother showering: your natural sheen gives you a dewy complexion, highlights all the right places, and sends pheromones into the atmosphere that will draw your partner to you like a moth to a flame.

ANTI-RACISM RESOURCES

Ijeoma Oluo writes “Anti-racism is the commitment to fight racism wherever you find it, including in yourself. And it’s the only way forward.” In an effort to help, I quickly pulled together a few simple ways to take action and support the black community:

  1. Sign the petition at www.justiceforbigfloyd.com or text 55156.

  2. Call 612-324-4499 and be a voice of justice.

  3. Use your financial privilege – Donate to @NAACP, @Blklivesmatter, @innocenceproject & @mnfreedomfund.

  4. Watch my friend Dale’s video and check out his resource list - four pages long and AMAZING.

  5. If you own a business, see what changes you can make to be more inclusive.

  6. Listen to Black people and their experiences. Read about Black history and read literature by Black authors.

  7. Use social media and the web to seek out content produced by Black artists, activists, and journalists. This is a great Instagram account and the podcast 1619 by The New York Times is awesome.

  8. Use your financial privilege to buy from Black-owned businesses.

  9. Vote to help put Black people and other POC in higher positions of power. Check out Higher Heights for America.

CHANNELING LOVE

LaurenBoggi.JPG

Ah, Valentine’s Day. Run! I’m half-kidding. I love love, but I’ve always been a bit of a cynic about February 14th because it feels like there is SO much pressure and anxiety around romantic love. It feels a bit forced, right? And, I feel it’s important to express all the love, lust, gratitude and passion that we feel year round.

V-Day will always be a Hallmark holiday imo, but since love and passion in all forms literally makes the world go round we should celebrate all of our relationships from our girlfriends, SO, lovers, family and friends. If you like or love someone, tell them. If they make you feel anything within the essence of good—memorable, impassioned, loved, happy, sexy, alive, turned on… for chrissakes let them know, right? It’s so important to love deeply and freely, and let go of the sh*t that doesn’t matter all year long. Think of the friends that held us post-breakups, in-laws that treat us as their own, our parents, the people that make us smile and help us not feel alone…I can go on and on. It will make you think about the holiday a little bit differently.

This year, I’ve decided to be more open-minded and reframe my approach to V-Day, and just be more OPEN to it. And, since movement and Cardio-Cheer-Sculpting is my passion, I’m spreading the love to you all through Studio LB. I want you guys to know that you’re really getting a piece of my heart in every calf pump and box jack!

Thinking of Valentine’s in this manner has made me release some of my cynicism about it. Letting that skeptical attitude go has been freeing and fun. If you’re like me and this Friday isn’t your fave, I’d suggest trying to channel your love differently and just forget about the pressure, flowers and candy. You’ll feel lighter more fulfilled, and loved. I love you guys! Xx
