SUMMER HOME BOIL

Simmering fruit and herbs on the stovetop is a great way to improve your mood, humidify the air, and use up produce that’s going bad. These blends are perfect to have simmering regardless of whether guests are coming over or not.

Lemon + rosemary

This recipe is a staple any time of year. Simmer 6-8 cups of water and add two-three sliced lemons, a few springs of rosemary, and a tablespoon of vanilla extract. Rosemary is rich in antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory compounds, which help to improve your immune system and blood circulation.

Mint + lime

Simmer 8 cups of water and add six sprigs of mint, two limes, sliced, and a 3-inch piece of ginger, sliced. If you’re looking for an energy boost and refresh, this is the perfect concoction to boil up.

Grapefruit + lavender

Simmer 8 cups of water and add a sliced grapefruit, a bunch of lavender, and a dash of vanilla extract. The lavender is known for its calming and anxiety-reducing abilities while the citrus of the grapefruit helps to balance the mood and ensures it doesn’t make you too relaxed that you fall asleep.

These blends can last between one-three days — as long as you continue adding water to the simmering pot every one to two hours.
